Most of us have heard the expression "you are what you eat" but how many of us actually really understand what this means?
I have studied the body processes associated with what we eat, I am constantly learning the latest research on how food affects our health, through this I am able to offer tailored advice about how you can improve your diet in order to lead a healthy lifestyle or achieve a specific health-related goal.
The main reasons my clients come to see me are:
My main role as a nutritionist is to help people achieve optimal health by providing information and advice about health and food choices. With a tailored plan you can expect to function better, increase your energy levels and have a better sense of well being by healing illness through food and supplements. Let food be your medicine.
What you can expect from working with me:
My goal is to inform, inspire, counsel, and support my clients, and I want to see you succeed!
During the initial consultation you will complete a nutrition assessment. This includes information about your current and past medical history, family medical history, food allergies or intolerances, likes and dislikes, eating, sleeping and exercise habits.
We will discuss your health related goals and what you would like to gain from the consult. I will help you understand what diet and lifestyle changes, need to be implemented for you to be able to achieve them.
By developing a plan together you have a better chance at succeeding, as you are not doing all the work alone. I'll explain the reasoning behind the plan or changes, including exactly how they will affect your body and what you can expect. You gain a trusted resource you can call on.
After our initial visit, you will receive a customised nutrition plan with tailored advice about how you can improve your diet to be able to live a healthier and happy life. I will support you and will teach you how to identify and work through barriers. Eventually I hope you will get to the point where you don't need me anymore, because you've not only met your goals, but the changes you've made have become your new ‘normal' way of eating and you have learnt how to let food be your medicine.
